From screens to the streets: Art for a sustainable and inclusive world
COVID-19 is turning our lives upside down and changed life on our planet forever. The good news is that as we recover from this global pandemic, we can build a just, sustainable and inclusive world.
People all around the world are taking to the streets and joining in solidarity for a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reimagine and create a better future. We’re at a critical turning point for people and the planet. This is the opportunity for sweeping systemic changes to address the challenges we face today.
Art can bring people together to trigger bold actions and spark change. This moment calls for creators to join us in dreaming up, designing and shaping the vision of this new world. We’ve teamed up with GreenPoint Innovations, the Climate Group/Climate Week NYC and partners for GreenPoint EARTH 2020 #Screens2Streets to invite artists all over the world to share how the Sustainable Development Goals inspire them, their art, and their artmaking process for people and the planet.
We support artists who are helping people and the planet — a judging committee will select artists to be provided small financial grants and their works to be featured prominently. In September, one artist/team will be selected to bring their idea to life with the first ‘Streets’ mural activation in New York City.
